The Timega was
designed to automate black and white printing in professional
labs. The photocell was mounted in a special head on a flex-arm so
that it could be easily aimed at different areas of the image. The
head also incorporated a light for aiming the photocell
accurately. Once calibrated, the unit controlled each exposure
automatically. The paper setting dials could be used to compensate
for over or under exposed negatives. There was no provision for
setting a manual exposure.

Used Advice: The Timega
was designed for use in professional labs in the 1960s, and it is
unlikely to be of much use in today's darkrooms. We consider the
unit to be generally uneconomical to service. |
