This was referred
to as the "Colorhead" lamphouse because it was the first version able to
accept filters for color printing above the lens. The main body section
was a new casting that had a door in the front. The user installed a 5"
diameter piece of heat absorbing glass in the upper portion of the main
body, and the color printing filters, in an accessory filter holder, were
inserted into the front slot. Unfortunately, the specified size for the
filters was 63/8"x 6¾"
requiring that they be cut down from a larger sheet, which was rather
inconvenient and expensive.
This was an
option for the Omega DII
enlarger, and at the time there were still three accessory condenser sets
for lenses shorter than 135mm.
Used Advice: If
the accessory condenser sets are missing or damaged, this lamphouse can
also be converted to DV specification using the conversion kit. The
original filter holder is no longer available, but a suitable replacement
can be fashioned if required. |
