The 504 is one of the best known and longest lived DeVere models. Through its production life, it has seen several design changes and multiple versions of Dichromat colourhead. The column is the classic DeVere lathe bed type, and the enlarger features optical axis negative and lens stage tilts, as well as built-in negative masking. It can be configured in wall mount, floor standing, and bench versions, with the latter also available with extra long columns.

Dichromat heads are available in both 250W and 500W versions, each with optional closed loop circuitry. A full range of heads for black and white printing can also be fitted. The DeVere 504 models are the most precisely engineered and manufactured 4x5 enlargers available.
